Welcome to the Library!

Hello from the library staff to all returning and new students on the first day of classes. Here are some things we think you will find useful:
- You can contact the library during the hours that it is open by calling the phone on the circulation desk, Ext. 4389, and rest assured the call will be answered by a real live person to help you. Other than by phone, you can ask your questions in live chat with a librarian with our Ask a Librarian feature on the main webpage of the Hermann Memorial Library. Or, you may email us in the library at library@sullivan.suny.edu
- If you’re on campus, stop by and visit us in person. Stop at the deHoyos cafe and grab a latte and sit in one of our comfortable reading chairs and browse the latest issue of one of our many magazines or newspapers, check your email, or, yes, work on your latest assignments. We have just added four new computer workstations to the main floor reference area, bringing our total number of computers up to fifteen. We do get busy, especially in the afternoons, so you might find yourself not finding a free computer—well, not to worry, because we can lend you a laptop to do your work in the library. Just ask at the circulation desk.
- We can tell you if your course textbook is on reserve.
- We can get you that book you wanted that’s not in our collection, through our information delivery services.
- We can help you get oriented to college during your first days and weeks; so come in and let us show you how to get your computer id and password, and your ANGEL id and password.
- A reference librarian will be on hand during every hour the library is open to help you make sense of your assignment, to help you find information, or to provide referral when indicated.
SO COME ON DOWN TO E BUILDING and enter our world—The Hermann Memorial Library of SUNY Sullivan. Welcome.
