JobNow, powered by Brainfuse, provides live interactive online help combined with online resources to guide you through the necessary tasks to get a job.
The Hermann Memorial Library has just recently added this online service to its webpage. You can access this service by going to the library home page, then clicking on “Subject Resources” under the heading “Find Resources” on the right-hand menu column. Once on the Subject Resources page, click on the link that says “Careers and Jobs” and a new page will open that contains a link to this special resource. With JobNow you get 1) Live Interview Coaching to ace your interview; 2) Resume builder, featuring the Resume Lab that provides the resources you need to craft a winning resume, and get live resume help; 3) Career Resources, links to free Internet resources for job seekers, including personality and career assessments, and live job search help from dedicated and qualified staff.
JobNow is made possible through a federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Broadband Technology Opportunity Program (BTOP) award funded through the New York State Education Department/New York State Library.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: The New York State Library is pleased to announce expanded weekday access to Job Coaches/Tutors through JobNow.The new hours for the NY State JobNow service are:
10AM - 11PM ET - Monday - Friday
2PM - 11PM ET - Saturday & Sunday
Librarians had asked for live online help to overlap more regular library business hours. Brainfuse responded to those requests, increasing the availability of Job Coaches and Tutors during the weekdays.
